Welcome to Incunabula!

We’re glad you stumbled through our door!

The Land of Incunabula (that’s Ink-you-nab-you-luh) is usually a pretty neat place, what with all the magic going on and all, but lately something has been going terribly wrong. Changes are taking place – bad changes. All the good things are turning horrible: all the flowers are growing upside-down so only the roots show, thunder doesn’t go boom or rumble anymore, it goes squeak! and (this is embarrassing) pfft!  Snow doesn’t fall in flakes, it falls in great big snowballs covered in ice with a rock in the center. Halloween has been cancelled as all the lovely candies have turned into black licorice, but it doesn’t matter because the costumes have changed into suits and ties and high heels. Now the dragons breathe garlic-and-onions instead of fire, campfires won’t burn, they just lie there and sulk, the strings on the guitars have turned to noodles, all the music makes you feel like you’re at a funeral or stuck in an elevator. Holidays are disappearing right off the calendar! You can actually hear them go pop! as they vanish, sucked out of the little square of the calendar, suddenly a day of work instead of a day of play. And even the soft green grass under our feet feels like needles and knives. The Creeping Nasties are here, and Incunabula is in danger of losing all its magic forever!

We’ve sent the Tumble-down Wizard to earth to find a child who can save us. Our magic comes from the imaginations of the children of earth – whatever you dream of there comes true for us here. Without your magic, our land would starve to death! So send us your dreams, your fantasies, your crazy, idle, middle-of-math-class thoughts. Keep Incunabula alive while we fight the disease of the Creeping Nasties, and we just might have a chance.

Look around our website and read about the strange characters who inhabit this land.  And come back often! Incunabula changes fast.

You can follow the story of Incunabula in a new book called Marietta and the Creeping Nasties by Shannon Perry. Email shannon@mariettaandthecreepingnasties.com for further details on how to order a copy.

Watch out for Fester and Ooze, and mind your step around the Bottomless Pit of Falling Paul. Incunabula is a place of magic, and not all magic is friendly . . . .
