the Moonshadow Tigers             Their origin is as shrouded in mystery as . . . well, . . . pretty much everything else about them. All we really know is that there are two of them, and they're really really really big. They can travel in the usual ways (only rather faster) of running or walking or jumping, but they can also travel by riding on moonbeams. Which makes them really terribly fast and also completely unpredictable. They pop up in all sorts of places, rarely with any kind of warning first. They are the guardians of Incunabula, and some say that they are the oldest living creatures in the land. Most Incunabulans believe that one Tiger is a he and the other a she, but no one's been brave enough to ask yet. They are strong, fierce and decidedly not-to-be-messed-with. No one is sure if the Tigers are magical creatures; nobody's seen them using magic, apart from riding moonbeams, but they are immune to the effects of the Land of Infinite Variation. They are the heart of Incunabula as much as they are its muscle and sinew, and no one cares to imagine this land without them.
